It all started as “Ruby’s Decorating Center” many, many years ago.

My Grandmother, Ruby, started the business, and I learned the trade as a sixteen-year-old girl under Nanny. When Nanny Ruby passed away, I was lost, and put all of the business’s supplies into storage. I spent several years trying to find myself, doing other things. Then, I decided to follow my heart and go back to my roots. I decided to get that old equipment back out and start anew! I started designing and making draperies again in my living room.

When Nanny’s old clients found that had opened back up the business as R&R (stands for the two Ruby’s - my grandmother, Ruby, and me, Ruby Lee), my business took off! Soon, I had a storefront in Tazewell, with my husband and son helping with the business, too. I have since moved the business back to my home with Nanny Ruby’s same old machines, and I am still doing the same simple, elegant design, with personal service that started with Nanny Ruby. I hold her memory and values close to me and each project I do is a reflection of her.
